Cyclical Lattice 2026

Cyclical Lattice symbolises the fascinating interplay between what at first sight appear to be opposites. It explores the boundaries between computational geometry, natural structures, and craft perfection. To achieve this, Donders pushes human and machine limits to the extreme. Each of the 218 organic shapes made of solid cherry wood weighs circa nine grams and demands the utmost precision and inventiveness. With self-designed tools, a pair of tweezers, and a magnifying glass, Donders transforms a set of geometric rules into a complex, organic form. The conceptual egg stands as a testament to the inherent equilibrium and interconnectedness found in nature.
